Missy was Confirmed at Saint Ignatius on Thursday, 12 May 2011. Here she is with Bishop Richard Higgins (one of the Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese for the Military Services).
After much study and prayer, Missy chose Saint Therese of Lisieux as her Confirmation saint (or Saint Therese chose her?), and her Aunt Debbie as her sponsor.
We had a full house in attendance (despite it being on a Thursday). Grandma Patton, Grandma and Grandpa Kaschmitter, Aunt Debbie, and Missy's Godfather, Mike all came into town for the big day.
Missy, you are a beautiful young lady. You know your faith inside and out, and you are not afraid to share it. You have a great charism, and I (for one) cannot wait to see your life unfold. When we were walking out of daily Mass the other day, you made me smile inside when you leaned over and whispered, "I love going to Mass." This from the girl that asked just a few short years ago, "Do we have to go on Sunday if we go on Friday?"
